.NET RESX localization with AI

.NET RESX resource files with <data> entries and comments.

.resxformat: resxone file per locale

What it is

RESX is the resource format for .NET, used by ASP.NET Core, WinForms, WPF and MAUI: Resources.resx for the neutral culture and Resources.es.resx for others.

Example

Resources/Strings.resx
<root> <data name="WelcomeMessage" xml:space="preserve"> <value>Welcome, {0}!</value> <comment>Shown after sign-in</comment> </data></root>

How Glossa handles it

Plurals
RESX has no plurals; each entry is translated as a single string.
Comments and context
The <comment> element becomes context.
Placeholders
Composite format items such as {0} are protected and checked.
Round trip
Non-string resources and the schema and resheader preamble are copied verbatim, so Visual Studio still opens the file.

Translate it from the command line

Push the source-language file; strings are deduplicated against the rest of your workspace and queued for translation. Pull writes Resources/Strings.resx back in the same format.

npx @meterapp/glossa loginnpx @meterapp/glossa push Resources/Strings.resx --project appnpx @meterapp/glossa pull --project app --locale es,de,ja

Or ask an agent over MCP: “Push Resources/Strings.resx to Glossa and pull Spanish.” It calls push_file and pull_file. See the CLI and MCP guides.
